Spotify for Artists: How to Claim Your Artist Profile and Get Verified

Spotify for Artists is Spotify's free dashboard for artists. It lets you customize your profile, see detailed listener stats and pitch unreleased songs to playlist editors. Any artist with at least one release on Spotify can get access.

What your artist profile gives you

A verified badge next to your name.

A photo, bio and social links on your profile.

Stats: how many listeners you have, which countries they're in and which playlists they find you through.

Pitching — submitting a song to editors before release.

Canvas — short looping videos that play instead of the artwork.

Artist Pick — a pinned release or playlist at the top of your profile.

Step 1. Release a track on Spotify

Your artist profile doesn't exist until you have music on the platform. Release a track through a distributor — for example, SONOMUSE — and wait until it appears on Spotify.

Step 2. Request access

1. Go to artists.spotify.com and log in with your Spotify account — a free one works.

2. Choose to claim your artist profile.

3. Search for your name or paste the link to your Spotify artist profile.

4. Confirm it's you: Spotify will ask you to connect your social accounts and name your distributor.

5. Wait for approval — usually from a few hours to a few days.

How to use pitching

The most valuable feature is pitching an unreleased song to editors. Spotify lets you pitch one song from an upcoming release, and you need to do it in advance: at least 7 days before release day, ideally 2–3 weeks.

So set your release date with time to spare. If you upload a track for “tomorrow”, you won't be able to pitch it.

Even if editors don't add the song to a playlist, pitching still helps: Spotify adds the release to your followers' Release Radar.

Common problems

Your track landed on another artist's profile with the same name — contact your distributor's support and the release will be moved to the right profile.

You ended up with two profiles — they can be merged via Spotify for Artists support.

There's no option to pitch — fewer than 7 days remain before release, or the release is already out.

Summary

Claiming your artist profile is a free, essential step after your first release. Release on Spotify and 450+ other platforms with SONOMUSE, claim your profile — and you'll be able to pitch your next release to editors ahead of time.
